I guess it depends what you mean by equality.
A lot of left-leaning politics is to do with the injustice in our social constructs, in class, caste, race etc, it isn’t supposed to make all people equal, but to illuminate the harm caused by the system.
So the changes sought are systemic changes.
Progressive people also tend to support more specialised education and care for people with genetic variances such as learning disabilities, or step-free access etc. With more research, I’m sure that would expand.
The problem is in the way the idea is phrased here, which does immediately bring to mind eugenics, and that conflicts with the idea that diversity is a good in its own right.
